Fran Mulhern

Fran has a Creative Writing MA from Lancaster University, and a law degree from the University of East Anglia. Originally from Ireland, he’s big on modern Irish fiction and essays - he’s a big believer in Joan Didion’s quote that essays are ‘thinking on the page’. His work has appeared in The London Magazine, Litro, The Honest Ulsterman and others.

In his spare time, when not writing, reading or doing his day job, Fran enjoys spending time with his wife and dogs and is partial to good TV shows. He wishes he was Wags from Billions.

Pip Tyler

Pip Tyler is a writer whose work has appeared in many places, including Black Works, In Parentheses, Nunum, and Panorama: The Journal of Travel, Place and Nature. She’s spent twenty years tackling the professional challenge of crafting factual pieces about immigration for councils and sharpened her writing skills during a PhD in politics and geography, alongside some encouraging creative writing courses. A long-time member of a Yorkshire book club, Pip delights in outlandish, surreal stories.

Pip lives by an oxbow lake in Yorkshire with too many houseplants, a mischievous man and three feisty black cats. You’ll often find her playing cooperative board games or buying yellow things.

Nicola Lennon

Nicola is an Irish writer, with writing published in Avatar Review and The Cabinet of Heed. She holds an MA in Creative Writing at Manchester Metropolitan University and is now beginning the next chapter of her academic journey with a PhD in Creative Writing.   An avid reader of fantasy and historical fiction, she is especially interested in themes of identity, humanity and authoritarianism. She is currently in the final stages of editing an urban fantasy that explores grief, trauma and what it means to be human - a novel long in the making.  

Alongside reading, writing and teaching, she is Mammy to three children and one very important dog. She finds joy in family life, great stories and inconvenient bursts of inspiration.
